Secretary of State Marco Rubio decried a current efficiency of “Jesus Christ Famous person” and mentioned that assaults on Christianity are nothing new. 

Throughout an interview on EWTN’s “The World Over” revealed on Thursday, host Raymond Arroyo requested Rubio if he would ever assist bringing “Depraved” star Cynthia Erivo’s efficiency of the present to the Kennedy Center, as Rubio is a member as a consequence of his ex-officio standing. 

“I do not comply with any of that stuff, however simply how you have described it to me, no, I imply, clearly, look, that stuff’s carried out to be provocative and to insinuate, however I feel for folks of religion, none of this must be new,” Rubio instructed Arroyo.

The show was performed on the Hollywood Bowl originally of August in Hollywood, California.  

Some Christians have voiced concern about Erivo, a bisexual lady, enjoying Jesus. 

“It has been true from the start in Christianity, it has been – Christianity has been mocked, Christianity has been attacked from its very inception,” Rubio mentioned. “In actual fact, the Church has historically been at its strongest when it is the persecuted church, it has been at its weakest when it kind of will get consumed by the tradition.”

Rubio added that the Christian religion goes in opposition to the tradition.

“And so, by definition, Christianity has all the time been countercultural,” he mentioned. “It was from its earliest days, and it has been at its strongest and most vibrant. Now, that does not imply we search persecution or we do not take it on. It does. However I feel we should always perceive that, that Christ’s personal command and Christ’s personal phrases, he tells us they will hate you due to me.”
